We are a mid-sized private practice (not owned by private equity) and are recruiting a Medical Retina/Cataracts doctor to join our dynamic, established and growing practice of 9 doctors in Northwest Ohio. As the premier quality provider of surgical and medical Ophthalmologic eye care since the late 70’s, our practice offers residents in 2 counties plus surrounding communities exceptional clinical and surgical care.  Our drawing area consists of over 500,000 people and there is a large unmet need here for a Medical Retina specialist.

Our offices are state-of-the-art with plenty of  exam lanes, numerous testing rooms, laser suites, a brand new procedure room (with IPL laser and Cynosure Tempsure Envi radiofrequency platform) and more.  We've also recently added Zeiss OCT-A in February and will be adding a second one this fall, and also a new Optos unit.  So both oof ur locations have top-of-line OCB, OCT, Optos, topography units, organized surgical scheduling department (with two Zeiss IOLMaster 700 with TK), updated and excellent equipment throughout. The technical staff is tremendously motivated, compassionate, well-trained and supportive of both patients and doctors. Work-up lanes are maximally equipped enabling trained and certified technicians to efficiently prepare patients for the doctor’s evaluation with minimal patient movement and wait time.  

Our offices have refined, updated and integrated EMR systems with specific IT productivity enhancements as well as analytics.  We are quality driven with active committees diligently supporting quality outcomes analysis as well as compliance. Doctors are always supported with staff, equipment and refined processes. If someone has a new idea and it improves quality of care or productivity, we implement the idea. 

We operate at multiple surgery centers.  One of the ASC's where we operate is ranked as among the top 92 percentile in the state.  These facilities have the latest upgraded Alcon Centurion platforms, a robust set of instruments and equipment as well as trained and experienced surgical staff enabling efficient performance in the operating rooms. With the addition of another surgeon we will heavily consider opening up a new ASC.

The optimal candidate should be a board eligible or board certified Medical Retina doctor.  We will consider Medical Retina doctors who want to do Medical Retina only as well as Medical Retina doctors who also wish to do Cataract Surgery. Our experienced Ophthalmologists will be committed to supporting a newly trained physician as they transition from residency to private practice to  partnership. If the candidate is already highly skilled and experienced, an accelerated surgical schedule will be provided. Our full time Optometrists within the practice work closely with Ophthalmologists in a collegial, team environment seeing patients collaboratively and discussing cases every day.  This has been a tradition for decades.

Our local hospital is Mayo Clinic affiliated and is an award winning independent, 150 bed facility offering excellent primary and subspecialty care. One of the local Surgery Centers has over 20 years of successful experience in supporting surgeons in a high-volume ASC. Surgical nurses are extensively experienced in Ophthalmic surgery enabling highly productive, performance driven intra-operative care.  Over 30,000 Ophthalmic procedures have already been completed.   Equipment is state-of-the-art. The Catalys femtosecond laser is readily available for use.
